Year Mark exchange photo with Elder Burton in a field of flowers :)
haha also on our exchange I wore the tie that he gave me and he wore
the tie that I gave him clear back in Nice!
Hello everyone! This week was another great week here in Geneva! Here
is the week!
Monday: Zone P day! We had all 26 of our zone members here in Geneva
and we all met at the church and had a big lunch together. Then from
the church we went to a nearby field and played soccer and football!
Haha honestly it was really fun. It was good to have everyone in our
zone and to pass a few hours together! After p day we went to the
Barray's house for a family home evening!
Tuesday: Exchange! We did an exchange with Annemasse and I was with
Elder Woodward from Washington! He's a stud and I enjoyed being with
him. We ate lunch at the Peronnet's house and then from there we had a
RDV with Mandy and Atoussa and we went back over the restoration with
them! They are doing so well and have just been killing it since their
baptisms! We then passed Ali and went over Step 1 of the 12 steps to
addiction recovery with him! He asked for a blessing and told us he
would stop. After the RDV we asked if he had any alcohol left and he
said yes and went to the fridge and dumped it down the drain...good
stuff :) We then went and taught Anthony about faith and repentance!
We used Sister Brown's idea of repentance with Anthony and had him
hold a ball and act like it was a sin. After he completed each step of
repentance he got to lift one finger off of the ball until he finished
the final step and the ball fell aka he no longer had the sin! Then
later that night the Austin couple invited us over to eat dinner and
it was super good! The Austin's are amazing people and I'm so grateful
for them! Also, got a call from Natasha (Rishon's mom) and she told us
that she didn't want Rishon to get baptized on Saturday, but we had a
RDV with them on Wednesday to talk about it...
Wednesday: So we showed up at Rishon's house and basically his mom
didn't feel like he was ready to be baptized and so she didn't want
him to. Natasha was supposed to be baptized with him but she has to
take care of a few things before! So, they still want to meet and
everything but they just aren't ready for baptism yet! But they're
incredible and will be ready sometime :) haha so then we had a RDV
with a guy named Frank who was contacted about a month ago. We gave
him a tour of the chapel and he was super tired and basically falling
asleep haha, so we just told him we would talk to him soon! We also
did transfer recommendations for the zone for this upcoming transfer
which took up a chunk of the day considering the fact we have 26
members!
Thursday: Exchange! I was with Elder Burton in Annecy. I love Elder
Burton so much and look up to him a lot. He was my ZL in Nice when I
first got in the mission and we were in the same apartment for 4
months and so we really got close! We haven't really seen each other
for the last 7 months but now that we are in the same zone I was able
to go on an exchange with him! He's seriously one of my heroes out
here. So, we started off by passing a less active in their Ward who
was obsessed with cats haha it was a crazy RDV. Then we went and did a
few pass backs for the Ward because we brought the car to Annecy. Then
we went and passed a part member family and shared Ether 12:27 and
talked about baptism as well. The husband isn't a member but one day
:) While we were contacting, we saw some guy playing basketball at a
park and so we went and shot with him a little bit and about 20
minutes later we had taught him the restoration and he had a Book of
Mormon. It was so good to be able to be with Elder Burton again and we
took the coolest exchange pic that I will send haha.
Friday: Zone finding day! So Elder Burton and I woke up and drove to
Geneva where our whole zone was and we had a big zone finding day! We
put all the elders plaques in one bowl and all the sisters in another
bowl and we drew 2 out at a time to see who would go with who. I was
with Elder Price which was awesome. So basically we had a few places
mapped out in Geneva and we just went and found! First was Place de
Neuve where we had to get 7 convos, then Plan Palais where we needed a
lesson and 2 brochures given out, and then next was contacting by Lake
Geneva where you had to give out 15 cards. It was super fun and
honestly I love finding and talking to people. We all finished at jet
d'eau (the big water fountain in lake Geneva) and took a zone photo!
It was awesome and there were some cool things that happened. From
there, we had a meeting with our Ward mission leader Fidalgo! Haha he
is seriously so cool.
Saturday: Haha our whole morning was crazy as we were running a few
errands. But, we had our samedi sportif and played soccer at a field
by the church. The kids here are super good and it was pouring rain so
it was pretty fun. We also went and passed a media referral named
Monsieur Lebalia and he was super cool! (We actually have a RDV
scheduled with him tonight).
Sunday: Fast Sunday! It was so great. Atoussa got up at her first fast
Sunday as a member and bore her testimony and it was unreal. She
talked about how if she had a 10 francs bill that was old and beaten,
that we would all still want it because it is still worth 10 francs.
She then compared it to her and how even when she is beaten and life
is hard, that she still has our Savior to help. She talked about how
much she has changed since her baptism and bore testimony of Jesus
Christ. Super touching. Oh ya also there was a crazy thing that
happened but I'll keep it out of the email haha. We planned a little
bit for the upcoming week and then we had a few errands to run. Then
we ate at the Cornetta home and it was super good! Then we did zone
numbers. Voilà la semaine!
Also we get our transfer calls this week so we will see what happens!
Haha honestly I've never been nervous before getting transfer calls
but I can already tell I'll be dying Friday morning ;)
John 14:21
I love how in this scripture Christ explains that in keeping his
commandments, we show Him that we love him. It made me reflect on my
life and other ways that I show Christ that I love Him. I invite each
of you to take a minute and think about what you do to show Christ you
love Him and I promise that more ways will come to your mind and he
will fill your life with his love as he promises.
Thank you for the support and have a great week!!

John 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
