Haha Maman Pauline! This is the woman that gave me a hug and kiss
during the video hahaha
Hello everyone! I would like to start off by sending my support to
those who have been affected by the attacks in Belgium. Very sad. But
it was another great week here in Geneva and we received transfer
calls and Elder Barnes and I are staying another transfer together! :)
we were so excited about the news and this transfer will be awesome.
Here is the recap:
Lundi: P day (kind of)!! We had a member in the Ward invite us to
lunch with one of his friends named Victor and he had a lot of
questions about our church. It was honestly such a cool rdv as he was
asking questions and there was always a response and the spirit was
definitely there. He said he would read the Book of Mormon and pray
about it! Then we went to a cool outer village with the sisters and
our DMP and hung out for a little bit! And then later that night we
had FHE with the Gillet family! Haha they have 4 kids who are so tiny
and it was total chaos...reminded me a lot of my own family haha. We
taught about Jesus Christ and Easter and we used the Easter eggs my
mom sent me (thanks mom) to teach them!
Mardi: Haha so another crazy day. We woke up and went to the airport
and picked up Elder Hoffmann! His companion had to do some legality
things until Saturday so we had an extra companion the whole week!
Elder Hoffmann is from Belgium and we were with him when we heard the
news about what happened but President called him and let him know
everything was alright. Also we were on an exchange during this whole
time with Gex so I was in Geveva with Elder Hoffmann and elder
Golightly (from Davis high)! We had a mangez vous with the Cornetta
family. Then we contacted for a little bit. While we were out and
about Elder Hoffman's heart started to hurt him a lot and so loooong
story short we ended up in the hospital for the rest of the night from
about 5:30-11:00. But no worries! He is okay :)
Mercredi: Another crazy crazy day!! So we drove to Gex and had
district meeting there. Elder Herf is the Gex district leader and he
is a convert of almost 2 years and he did such a great job. So then we
got a call and had to go take care of something really sacred but I
can't write about it, and that took most of the afternoon! Then we
went and taught Ali the word of wisdom and his daughter Atoussa KILLED
IT! Atoussa is so awesome. She was telling Ali that she wants him to
quit so bad and has forever and just wants her dad back. Anyways, it
was an intense rdv.
Jeudi: We had Geneva district meeting! Elder Menzel is the District
leader in Geneva and he did awesome. I love our district so much.
After district meeting we started an exchange with the Salève elders!
I was with Elder Hoffmann and Elder Duncan from Springville, Ut! So we
went and passed a member referral and hahaha she was the funniest girl
ever! Her name is Maman Pauline and she is really old and from
somewhere in Africa and she was the cutest lady! We showed her the new
video from the church on Easter and she started crying halfway through
the video and got out of her chair and came and gave me a hug and
kiss! Haha it was so funny elder Duncan and Hoffmann were laughing so
hard. I will be sending home a photo of her because she was so funny.
Then after we went and taught Atoussa and her friend Mandy the plan of
salvation! Mandy has been coming to every lesson with Atoussa. Mandy
wants to be baptized so bad but there is one problem...her mom is
super against it. Atoussa and Mandy are both 18 by the way. Mandy is
going through a really hard time right now and her mom basically
kicked her out of the house because she said she wanted to be baptized
so please pray for her. Anyways, the rdv went great and after she
asked for a blessing which helped her a lot.
Vendredi: calls day! Obviously elder Barnes and I are staying. We have
some studs coming into the zone this transfer! One of them being elder
burton who was my zone leader when I came into the mission in Nice and
he's my mission hero I love him so much! I'm super excited. And there
are a lot more people. It was also sad to hear who got transferred out
of the zone! Honestly we had the coolest zone. So after we got calls,
our district met up at the institute and ate lunch together! Then
elder Barnes and I did some service for a member in the Ward! Then we
had a big activity at the church with our Amis and members! Our DMP
Frere fidalgo has started this activity thing which will happen once a
week. Honestly we have the sickest DMP I love him! We had some Amis
there and it was a great time!
Samedi: we took elder Hoffmann to the airport where he got back with
his companion! I loved being with elder Hoffmann he is such a stud and
it was good to speak French with him this week. Basically we finally
found some time to plan a little bit and took advantage of it to get
an early start on next transfer! Then we met Atoussa and Mandy at the
church and taught them about faith with the Austin couple!
Dimanche: church! Wow it was so amazing I loved church and especially
the opportunity to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Atoussa and
Mandy came to church for the second week in a row! And apparently
during relief society They were all talking about faith and having a
broken heart and contrite spirit and Atoussa raised her hand and
basically told everyone she knows that this church is true and she got
her answer and that she is going to be baptized on April 16! We were
so excited when the sisters told us that. Atoussa told us that she
knows this church is the true church and we were so happy. Mandy wants
to get baptized so bad as well and we are praying for her and her mom!
Then we did zone numbers!
Crazy how fast another transfer has come and gone. It's weird to think
I'll be turning 19 and passing my year mark this transfer. I am so
excited to be with Elder Barnes for another one as well. This transfer
is going to be great and we are really excited :)
Thank you for the support and I just want everyone to know that I know
Jesus Christ lives. He took upon himself all of our pains, sadness,
temptation, hardships and weaknesses so that he would know exactly how
to help us in life. I also know He died for us, but 3 days later He
was resurrected. And because He was resurrected, we never have to feel
or be alone in this life.
Romans 8: 38-39
Elder Wade
Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
