Hello! Another great week here in Ecully! Haha when we were talking about this past week Elder Menzel made a funny comment..."I feel like I have been running around for 7 days straight." And it's pretty accurate!! This week we were super busy. My thoughts are all over right now but I'll try and remember some main points.
This week I had the opportunity to go on 3 exchanges! To start off there were a few missionaries who needed a little boost and so President sent us to their sectors to help them out a bit. I had a wonderful time on both of the exchanges and really learned a lot.
One of the Elders I was with is in a very tough family situation and we had a great exchange and at the end of the exchange we took some time to talk and he really opened up and we had a wonderful experience together during which we were really able to help each other in different ways. It's always funny how we go on certain exchanges thinking that we are going to help the other Missionary out because of certain reasons, but in the end I always come away thinking that we were sent on the exchange because I needed it!
The other exchange was with a missionary who had been losing motivation a little bit and was getting pretty discouraged. We went out and had a very successful day of work and we had a good time and he was able to gain some fire back. At the end of this exchange as well, we took some time to talk about things and he really opened up as well and he was very emotional and told me some things that had been happening and how he was having a hard time with certain things. It was a great experience and he is such a good guy.
The third exchange that we went on was with the Montpellier ZLs! I was with Elder Nelson and he's a big stud from Canada. We spent a lot of the day going from appointment to appointment and i really enjoyed teaching with him. He is very diligent and so it was very fun to do work with him.
The work is going well here in Ecully! With all of these exchanges that we have we are getting so many potentials that it is often hard to stay on top of everything! I don't know what i would do without my planner haha. We have developed quite a large teaching pool and I am very grateful for what we are seeing. Ecully is amazing and I love it here with the wonderful members and amis. Even though I've been here for almost 7 months now I find myself loving the area and the people more and more each day. We also have our Amie Blessing who is progressing well and is set for baptism on the 18th of this month. So please keep her in your prayers!
With all of that, it's just been a really good week. With everything that's happening right now, there is no place that i would rather be than here on my mission. Earlier this week I was reading a few journal entires from the beginning of my mission from back in Nice, and then I read a few from Corsica, then a few from Geneva, and then I read the entry that I had written that night. It was a really humbling experience and I am so grateful for everything that Heavenly Father has done for me over the last 22 months. This has been the greatest journey, and I'm grateful for all the time I still have in front of me.
Anyways, enough with my rants ;) have a great week!!!
Elder Wade
